What is the Sponsor a Classroom Initiative?
The Sponsor a Classroom Initiative is a program destined to bring high-quality, diverse book to schools in underrepresented communities and those looking to diversify their classroom libraries. Many students go through their school years without seeing themselves reflected in the books they read, this program aims to change that.
By sponsoring a classroom, you're helping provide books that celebrate diverse voices and experiences, ensuring students have access to stories that inspire, educate and empower.
Sponsorship Details
- 25 Diverse Books - Sponsors can choose books from the Peyton's Journey collection or Marcus and Big Read, both which feature diverse representation.
- Bookmarks for Every Student - A special keepsake to encourage lifelong reading habits.
- Author Read-Aloud - If the school is local, I will visit in person to read and engage with the students, If the school is outside the area, a virtual reading session will be arranged.
- Sponsor Recognition: Your name (or business name) will be included in a thank-you acknowledgement for your contribution.
How to Sponsor a Classroom
- Choose to sponsor a classroom with a one time contribution of $300.
- Select the books you would like to dentate
- We will match your sponsorship with a school in an underrepresented community or one seeking to diversify it's library. Or you can choose a school of your choice.
- The books and materials will be delivered, during the scheduled read-aloud session.
